For Parents

Parents have many questions about the expedition.  This page is just for your questions, comments and concerns!

Communication
We pride ourselves in frequent communication during the expedition.  You can check back to this blog during the course to see pictures, stories and updates from the groups.  I will also be posting several times a day to twitter.  You can get those updates here from the blog or, if you have an account, you can follow me!

Safety
Safety is our top priority!  We've been conducting the SophX since 2001 so we have a lot of experience in taking care of young people in the field.  The most serious injury we have ever had was a broken wrist due to a slip on a wet log.  The student walked out of the woods with her group and was brought to the hospital.

If you are interested in learning more about our safety policies you can download a selection of our safety protocols.

Curriculum
We believe that the classroom is a great learning environment, but there are also many skills, behaviors and values that are best taught in a more compelling setting.  If you are interested in what your children will be learning on course you can download our curriculum elements.
