I've heard from some parents who are just now finding the blog and are looking for the pictures from course start which are now bumped quite a ways down the blog.

Just a thought for future years; I know it must be hard to update on all groups when you aren't hearing from all. So how about posting a map or discription of each route and about where they should be each day. Or post a pre-written discription of what the plans are for each day...Just a thought. That way we all get some sort of update whether or not there is one from the group.

One year I posted way too much information about routes - very specific maps and trail info - and I had a couple of parents hiking in and trying to find their children and bring them cookies and goodies!
That was a little bit too much engagement!
But what I hear you saying is a basic overview of the route and camps would be nice in advance so you would know generally where your child was and what they were doing even if we didn't hear specific info would be nice.
Yes, or just a basic update the way you have been like Group on ...trail ... should be making there way over ...peak in good weather they can see... it's a hard day for them but worth it...that sort of thing but for each group. I can't imadgine hiking in uninvited to see them but if that's a possible problem don't get specific enough or be specific at the end of the day and broader about what's comming.
Yes - that sounds like it would strike a good balance!
