Instructor Teams Prepare for the Trail

The instructor teams met all day today to prepare to hit the trail with our Sophomores. Professional wilderness guides met NHS educators and we:

• Checked tents
• Tested stoves
• Finalized teaching plans
• Studied student medical forms
• Worked out how they would work together most effectively

Quite a few students stopped by, both current hikers and alumni of the program. All in all the prep day went very smoothly and we're all set for tomorow!

The weather is looking pretty darn good for a change, with some showers tomorow and maybe Monday but then steadily clearing and improving as the week goes on. Students will almost certainly see snow as this photo shows from a scouting trip last weekend, but it will likely only be up high and patchy.
