Okay - welcome everyone again to the SophX blog. This is your home on the internet for all things expedition.
I realize it's somewhat ironic to have an internet site (new school) for a backpacking program (old school). Last year we did have some success with the site and I'm thinking we can do even more with it this year.
I started a few posts over on the Burleigh Mountain blog before realizing it was too crowded to give the expedition due space. So here's a link to those previous posts including a welcome, a short video on cold weather that we won't have and some other thoughts.
I'm also adding to the downloads section today adding the menu so you can see what our campers will be eating on the trail and also some of our safety protocols.
From a risk management perspective the expedition is 8 times safer than high school volleyball (the safest high school sport). These protocols give you a sense of how we've thought through emergency situations.
